How to Fish Items, Trophies & Consumables

The campaign is a pocket checklist. Meat is cash. The weird piece is the Radar.

Items & Quest Gear

Most How to Fish failures that look like “broken Radar” are inventory mistakes. The game drops meat and a distinctive trophy from the same corpse. Feeding the trophy to an NPC writes the next island. Feeding it to a shop, a seagull, a grill, or a roulette wheel stalls the save. This page is the item list players search for — Beer, Radar, dynamite, Coconut, slots, keys — through Patch 1.0.10.

Ground piles now save up to 64 world items (weapons, tools, quest pieces, and creatures prioritized). That is not a reason to leave the Carrot on the sand during a sail. Pockets still win.

If the NPC animation did not play, you still have the wrong piece. Quest flow and Boss Fights name the trophies.

Tools and convenience

  • Crab Fishing Rod (~$3) — Island 1. Bait delivery, not DPS.
  • Beer (~$12) — quest reagent. Punching beer used to bleed; 1.0.10 fixed that joke bug.
  • Handheld Radar ($10) — Lighthouse, after keys. Map of unlocked islands. Death X removed in 1.0.10.
  • Boat Radar ($200) — Rocks red shack. Dashboard mount. Radar.
  • Dynamite (~$25) — Forest shop. Fly stunt, seagull achievement, optional cook yeets. Explosion velocity capped in 1.0.10.
  • Lighter — Grillmaster after Blue Shark. Cooking heals and 1.5× value. Cooking.
  • Inventory slots — extra pocket on Forest (cheap, often ~$5) and another on later islands. Buy them before trophies compete with rifles.
  • Boat Keys / RHIB keys — story, not a shop row.

Dip weapons and tools in water after cooking (1.0.10) so they are not breaded. That is a hygiene item rule, not a new shop SKU.

Seagulls, roulette, and fake trash

Seagulls steal landed trophies the same way they steal steaks. If a Shell or Whale Fin vanishes, check the bird before you assume the kill dropped nothing. Seagulls. Roulette and All in will eat a quest piece as happily as a mackerel. Gambling is for spare meat.

Items that look like junk are often the Radar: Empty Beer Can, three Leeches, a dead Tuna, a Fish Bucket that is not a shop lure. The Coconut looks like food and is only Bing Bong bait. Extra inventory slots are the cheapest insurance when a rifle, a fin, and a Carrot all want the same pocket.

Co-op: the host’s hand-in writes the island for everyone. A client who sells the Fin “because it is meat” can stall the whole lobby. Call trophies before anyone opens a shop mouth.
