How to Fish How to Catch Bing Bong
Peak’s doll is a Desert Coconut catch, not a Standard Lure roll.
Bing Bong is a hidden How to Fish creature on Desert Island (Island 3). It is a crossover with the game Peak: a doll you fish, fight, and can cook. It is not on the Standard Lure table, it is not a Drip variant, and it is not required for the story Radar. Collector lists it among special creatures. This page is the Coconut route through Patch 1.0.10.
Unlock Desert first: Giant Piranha Skeleton to the Forest NPC. If you are still on Lighthouse or Forest, Bing Bong cannot spawn. Story bait on this island is still the Carrot for Pufferfish — do the Tourist quest even if you came here only for the doll. Island context: Desert Island.
Buy the Coconut
Walk to the center of Desert Island. Look up at coconut trees. Not every tree is interactable. Community reports point to one tree that offers Coconuts for sale at about $350 each. Jump the nearby rock, look up, and buy when you see a shop prompt. If you lose the lure, buy another from the same tree. Coconut is not Ham, not Standard Lure, and not the Carrot.
You need cash. Sell Desert pool fish or come back after Rocks/Volcano shops if $350 hurts. An extra inventory slot on this island helps if you are already carrying a Carrot and a Pufferfish fin.
Fish and fight
Equip Coconut, cast on Desert water. Bing Bong is the thing that bites — a large health pool around 2500 HP on typical reports. It will fight back. Early SMG kits can work; returning with a Volcano Assault Rifle and cooked heals is kinder. Use trees for cover, keep moving, eat. Difficulty from Patch 1.0.9 scales creature health, so Easy is a valid doll hunt.
Kill it so the encyclopedia records the entry. You can cook it on the Island 3 grill (if Grillmaster is done) or sell the body. It is optional comedy, not a trophy the Tourist wants. Do not throw it in the Volcano; that lava step is for the scientist’s whale.
Drip farming still uses normal Desert baits. Coconut will not farm rainbow Snapper. Seagulls can still steal a landed doll — shoot the bird. Ground save (64 items) from 1.0.10 can keep a dropped Coconut if you quit, but unique lures belong in inventory.
Peak crossover, not a story skip
Bing Bong is a doll from Peak, dropped into Desert water as a joke fight. The encyclopedia still wants a kill for Collector. The Tourist does not. You can finish the campaign without ever buying a Coconut. You cannot finish the campaign with only Coconuts: Pufferfish still wants the Carrot.
If the tree will not offer a shop prompt, you are looking at the wrong trunk or you are not close enough after the rock jump. Walk the center grove slowly. Buy two Coconuts if you expect a seagull steal or a missed cast. The $350 tag is per nut, not a one-time island tax.
Cook or sell after the encyclopedia ticks. Do not hand the doll to the Tourist. Do not use it as Professional Lure on Rocks. After 1.0.9, Easy mode is a valid way to farm the entry without wasting an Assault Rifle magazine on a joke.
